Hi Rich and Peg,
ReplyDeleteThis is Diane posting from Carol's house...
How did you move into the apartment go? Rich, I hope you're settled in and are finding the comfort you need and seek. Institutional settings are so foreign to the being and our BE-ing.
The Psalm of lament that you shared this past week opened my heart to more fully comprehending your weariness of body, mind, and soul. It is a dark place to be. In relating to what you shared, I can say, I have been there at point a in my life. In a strange way of comfort, I found that scripture to be reassuring then, because
God knew and shared with us through scripture, what we were experiencing and He knew some of us in our lifetime would be in that place...and HE understood and spoke for us. HE knew and that AND HIS knowing struck a place of small comfort. I hope that for you, too. Hugs across the miles. Love, Diane

Dear Rich,
ReplyDeleteThese thoughts were on a simple card sent to me, but they are profound in their message. We're claiming these words for you and your family as you're living the Easter experience...living these past weeks in a "tomb". As Tony Campollo wrote,"It's Friday, but Sunday's coming!" We were so glad to hear in your own words, that you are passing THROUGH Gehenna and then you will find the spiritual riches which God has planned for you. This is what we are claiming for you:"God is a changer. He changes darkness into Light.....bondage into Liberty....conflict into Peace....ashes into Beauty....heaviness into Praise. He has changed death to LIFE!"
May you and your family know that even in your suffering there is an eternal purpose..... God wastes nothing! As my friend reminded me,"The tomb was useless! It served it's purpose for a short time, but something so much better happened!" Back here in Michigan we continue to "hold the ropes" and pray for God's changing power in your lives. Celebrate Easter and all of its promise. Love, Carol
