Seriously, can't Rich and Peg catch a break? Rich was discharged from the hospital a little bit ago and awaiting medical transport back to WestHills Rehab center and was then told that the nursing home won't take him back because they are having a norovirus outbreak and he needs to find a new care facility!?!
Any millionare friends and family out there that want to help pay for home care for Rich? This is just another huge bump in the road and I'm not sure how many more bumps we can take.

Ok, I'm going to call Jon. He might know who to talk to...not because he's a millionaire (or a thousand-aire_) but he knows the system...back to you soon...
ReplyDeleteOK, he's not home...and by the way, I know that you all have had to learn the in's and out's of how they whole crazy system works, but he used to do it Foote Hospital in Jackson for years...and since he's a therapist, he deals w/insurance every day...I know it's a long shot, but fresh eyes may help.
ReplyDeletepraying!
ReplyDeleteWhoa....you must feel as if you've been wandering in the "wilderness", but you're not -God knows exactly where you are! "Don't be afreaid, for I AM with you. Don't be discouraged, for I AM your Heavenly Father. I will strengthen and help you. I will hold you with my victorious right hand." (Isa. 41:10)
ReplyDeleteWe're thanking the Lord that He is working all of this together for your eternal good.....and thanking Him for humans like Kass that know how to spring into action! Love, Gary and Carol
We are so sorry for the unbelievable circumstances that you are experiencing. We want to be with you to help; and although prayer is the most important offering, we wish we could do more. Rich, the beautiful analogy from the book of Mark of your loved ones "holding the ropes" gave everyone such a beautiful visual. And now, I hope that you will visualize the strong bonds of love and prayers which are lifting you and your family all the way to the Throne Room. May you have deep rest tonight.
ReplyDeleteLove, Carol and Gary
nce, but only a moment away in love and prayer.
Carol and Gary
love to you Rich, Peg,and family...thinking of you tonight.
ReplyDeleteRenna
I had a thought in the middle of all this...
ReplyDeleteThank God Rich, that you and Peg didn't get the norovirus....It might not make your situation better, but maybe there was a miracle that kept both of you, Rich and Peg, out of the facility at the right time...just looking for rainbows...
Prayer alert: praying specifically for you as you go into surgery for the twisted bowel.
ReplyDeleteWell now, surgery for a twisted bowel ... that will keep Rich in the hospital for a bit so maybe the norovirus will clear up at the nursing home?! The Lord works things out, doesn't He? :) Seriously, we have experience with Rose, nursing homes, and Medicare ... she went in for rehabilitation after several fractures in her spine from the osteoporosis about 5yrs ago. Once she supposedly "no longer" needed the physical therapy, Medicare stopped paying for her stay. She could have stayed in the nursing home, but the cost would have been directly out of their pockets (OUCH!). Thankfully, we had finally finished their house and they were able to move in next door. Interesting insurance system this nation has, isn't it?!
ReplyDeleteKassi, LOVE your "rainbow" ... you are a "glass is half full" kinda girl ... love your encouragement!
Stay encouraged and rested, Rich, Peg, Rachael, Jacob and your extended family!!! Things don't always go the way WE think they should go, but the outcome is ALWAYS better when you rely on the Lord for all things!
I have the following above my computer screen:
"Focus on the eternal, find the humor, accept help, give thanks, and just hold on!"
Be at peace in the palm of His Hand!!!
Love always,
Linda and Mark
