3/25 8:02am

Rich has an obstructed bowel. It is quite serious. Rich is still in the E.R. and is going to be admitted to the E.R. observation unit. The doctors are trying to get his bowels working and he is on an IV and a large amount of anti-nausea medication. He is absolutely miserable and this is almost more than he or Peg can bear right now. Yesterday physical therapists had him sitting on the side of the bed and then this happens...he just cannot catch a break. Neurosurgery has also been down to the ER to check on him. I'll keep the blog updated as I learn more.

**UPDATE @ 9:19am: Peg just called me and said that Rich's bloodwork came back with very high levels of potassium. I believe this is called hyperkalemia and is really serious. The doctors are very concerned and are running more tests.

  2. The obstruction happened to Mark too once he left the hospital even with all of the laxatives they had given him in the hospital there was relief from below but it wasn't being pushed from the top so it was all knotted up. They started giving him things via the mouth and not just the bottom and finally it broke loose. They talked surgery but, with all he had gone through we didn't want that yet. We are thinking of you always. We love you Mark and Mel

  3. YEAAAAAAH RICH, ANSWERED PRAYER: sitting up!
Thanking God in advance, knowing that our Jehovah Rophe (Exodus 15:26) hears our prayers and WILL HEAL: No surgery and you'll once again be SITTING UP. (and Peg laying down SLEEPING!)
"They will pass safely through the sea of distress, for the waves of the sea will be held back. By My power I will make my people strong." Zecharial 10:11:12 Claiming this verse for you. Love to all of our family in the West, Gary and Carol
