  1. Hey Rich,
I just made a google account so I think I can send you messages...so here's the thing...get set for a few miracles. Your Landis family is serious about showing you the love...so we're sending prayers, love, hope and a wish list a mile long that God's Hands will work with your surgeons to ease your pain and suffering and that God Himself will be present and keep your spirits uplifted. Please let me know if this isn't working, cause we'll go to Plan B...not sure what that is, but we're serious about you and we collectively, hurt when you hurt. So we're going to pray that we can take some of your pain, tell God to spread it out a little, and to heal your body and your heart so your days can be filled with joy.
    Love to You Richie Smith!
    Your Cousin Kassi

  4. hello, my dearest and closest-in-age and most favorite cousin Richie!~ strength, peace, grace, hope, hugs, joy and the power of Landis LOVE --the gift of love that God gave to us in our families -- is coming your way. Tho you are far in distance, that power is not dimished. And if we were there, we would also bring your way tons of our specialty -- you know what it is!...Landis FOOD! GrammaLandis's homemade icecream, her sugar cookies, her cottage pudding, her potato soup with the little dumplings in it that we used to sit on catalogs at the farm on ChippewaRiverRd to eat!, Aunt Fonnie's macaroni salad, Aunt Mert's Springerlies, her VeggieBurger Soup, my mom's potato salad,...well, you get the idea, we would just fix everything with FOOD and LOVE and PRAYER. Thinking of you and missing you and praying for you and ALL who hold your care in THEIR hands...STAY STRONG Rich!!! Proverbs 3:5-6 keeps running thru my head, well, the hymn does and text is from Proverbs 3:5-6..."Trust in the Lord, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths..." ok, all for now. Grace and Peace to you dear Rich, from Renna

Want you both to know we are lifting you up in prayer as caregivers ... for endurance, patience, peace, encouragement, rest, balance in life, unshakeable faith, love, and more patience.

  6. Dear Rich, Peg, and Rachael,
Thanks for making this blog so we could easily send you messages. I had to have Megan help me get set up because I was born in the Dark Ages, but now I'm ready to go.
I have continued to keep all of you in my prayers daily. As Kassie says, we are all counting on that miracle for you. I know there are really no words that will make you feel a whole lot better, but know that you are in my thoughts. When Cara had her blood clots a year ago, the only thing I could tell her was that everything was out of our hands and that we just needed to trust God. My favorite bible verse is this and I think it is appropriate for you now, so I'll make it my blessing for you:
"The Lord bless you and keep you, the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26
Wish you guys were closer so we could actually visit you. I know my mom, also, would love to see you. She is thinking about you a lot right now.
Well, hang in there, like you have a choice, right? Let me know if there is anything I can do. Like Kass said, if I could take some of the pain away, I would. Be strong.
    Lots of love,
    Vicki and Mert

  7. Rich, This is from Joe Novello...

    Rich:

There isn't much I can say. I know how cruel and unfair that disease is. I have always admired your faith and your steadfast courage in its face. Even though I am sure it is the furtherest thing from your mind, you are an inspiration . You have fought it for every inch of the way. Since hearing about the most recent hell that disease is putting you through, not a day or hour has gone by that I have not thought of you. I know it doesn't do much to ease the pain, but I am praying for you and for your family. If loud, annoyingly frequent, sincere prayer will, through God's Will, guide the surgeons hand I know you can count on the loud, sometimes annoying, but always sincere Landis clan to provide a more than adequate dose. God be with you all.
